Tom Taylor grew up in a suburban Connecticut town suspiciously similar to those depicted in his writing. He was raised on a healthy diet based on the Three S’s: Star Wars, Star Trek, and Stephen King.
He began writing relentlessly in high school, and studied creative writing at Emerson College before earning his MFA in Creative Writing at Columbia College.
A novel can be a powerful direct link into the mind of someone you may never meet. An author can say to a complete stranger, “All that junk you’re dealing with, all those feelings you have now or had when you were a teen, you think you’re the only one. But you’re not the only one. I get it too.”
Tom is currently working on his next novel, The Nearly-Useless Powers League. When he is not writing, Tom is also the producer and cohost of a number of movie- and life-based podcasts. You can hear him on The Indiana Jones Minute, The Caddyshack Minute, The Blues Brothers Minute, The Ditch Diggers, ABCDEVO, and ABCD:TOS.
Yes, he’s very busy. And yet he still found time to take a picture of himself eating barbecue in a suit.
Tom lives in Chicagoland with his wife and son, and he would love to hear from you on Facebook or Twitter.
